Jessica Shannon was born and raised in Frankfort, Indiana. She moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she lived for 20 years. There, she raised her 5 children. After her father passed away, she returned to Frankfort to be closer to her mother. Upon her return, her worldview started changing. She was raised in a Republican family, but eventually, she came to identify as a Progressive Democrat, and a proud one at that.
Jessica isn't afraid to speak her mind and hold people to a higher standard. She challenges Republicans and regularly questions why things can't be better, all while doing her part to improve her community. She looks forward to moving Clinton County into the future.
Dacen Brittain is the grandchild of Jessica Shannon and currently works as an audio tech engineer. Dacen takes an approach to advocacy that is vital to getting the work done. Rather than directly confronting her political opposites, she prefers to focus on promotional efforts. She spreads the news about Progressive content, events, candidates and ideas. She enjoys starting meaningful discussions that introduce perspectives worth considering. People like Dacen may not always be in the headlines, but there wouldn't be a strong Progressive movement without them.
