Valerie Smith

Valerie Smith is a longtime advocate for grassroots democracy, voter engagement, and strong, transparent political organizations. With experience as both an elected official and political candidate, Valerie brings firsthand knowledge of the challenges candidates and local party organizations face.

Her work with organizations such as MADVoters has strengthened her commitment to increasing civic participation, connecting with voters, and ensuring communities have the information they need to make their voices heard. She travels the state to equip Hoosiers with the knowledge that politicians omit all too often.

Valerie also brings organizational and administrative experience, having previously served as secretary for multiple organizations. She understands that effective advocacy depends on strong internal systems, accurate records, clear communication, and accountability.

Valerie believes a well-organized local party is better equipped to support candidates, engage voters, and build lasting community relationships. She is committed to bringing efficiency, transparency, and thoughtful organization to progressive politics in Clinton County while helping create a stronger foundation for grassroots participation and success.
