Lewis Wheeler
Lewis Wheeler is no stranger to Clinton County. He knows what it means to serve his community, no matter what role he finds himself in. He was previously elected to both the Frankfort and Mulberry Council. In addition, he served on the Frankfort Board of Zoning Appeals and City Plan Commission and the Clinton County Area Plan Commission. His mission is to bring healing, hope and help to Clinton County.
Lewis spent many years in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras as a child. His perspective on life was shaped by growing up in an environment where his culture was in the minority. Patience, open-mindedness and adaptation were all traits that he had to acquire to thrive.
To Lewis, it’s imperative to do the most good for the most people, and to do the least harm for the most people. It was true even when he was a Republican; He reached across the aisle to implement policies that have since benefited our community, like the Senior Homeowner Assistance for Repairs Program (SHARP). His principles never left him, which is why he felt it was necessary to walk away from the Republican party.
Lewis vows to advocate for programs that do good for the residents of Clinton County. He fights for all families in our community, regardless of what they look like. Ultimately, he wants to make the world a more compassionate place.
